City councilors have signed off on plans to redesign the city's of Casper's website.

Council, during it regular session on Tuesday, unanimously entered into a $30,000 agreement with Canadian firm CivicLive - the company will be tasked with both redesigning and hosting the website.

Casper mayor Paul Meyer says the city's website, which hasn't seen a significant update since 2008, is in dire need of a facelift.

“It amazes me how many complaints I get about our website – how it is not as friendly as newer-age websites are, and that the information that’s available is quite limited,” Meyer said.

The city will pay for the new website's design through excess one-cent sales tax funds from last fiscal year. City officials say the new website should be online by this summer.
