Three of the best places to view the eclipse in Casper are reserved and essentially closed to additional viewers, according to a news release from the city manager's office.

  • All green space and shelters in North Mike Sedar Park and South Mike Sedar Park have been reserved by AstroCon. They are expecting 1,000 people. The parking lots in both parks, though not reserved, are on a first come first served basis. City officials expect the parking lots will have very limited availability.
  • The Casper Municipal Golf Course has a sold out tournament today. The parking lot is closed to everyone but those with a tee time.

City officials remind the public Casper has 48 other parks.

While almost all the shelters in all the parks have been reserved, there should be plenty of green space for viewing.
