A man indicted in March on two counts of possession of child pornography pleaded guilty to one of those counts at a hearing in federal court today.

The other count of child possession lodged against James Hibbler will be dismissed at his sentencing, which is scheduled for June 23 in Cheyenne, according to the minutes of the hearing before U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson.

Hibbler remains in custody. The grand jury indictment of him did not indicate his age or residence.

Federal and state governments regard child pornography as a crime of violence because the victims are often brutalized and cannot legally consent to sexual relations.
