Officials with the Wyoming Department of Transportation say a roughly four-month reconstruction project has been completed at the intersection of Casper Mountain Road and Outer Drive in Casper.

“We’ve taken the last of the traffic controls out, and you’re now able to make left-hand turns on Wyoming Boulevard onto Casper Mountain Road,” WYDOT District 2 spokesperson Jeff Goetz said. “So, it’s fully open, the new lights are installed and they’re running.”

Goetz said construction crews will now focus on a new, less time-consuming project.

“As soon as we took those traffic control devices down for the intersection work, we put them back up for a chip seal project,” Goetz said. “And that goes from (Casper Mountain Road) all the way around to Old Yellowstone in Mills.”

Goetz said the chip seal work should be done by next week. He also advises motorists to take it slow through areas that have been freshly chip sealed.
