Keeping things close to the vest, Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl has not announced a starting quarterback for Friday night's game at Colorado State.

The Cowboys’ head coach spoke about the upcoming match-up in his weekly press conference Monday. Coach Bohl admitted it took him his first year to realize the importance of this rivalry match-up against the Rams, as well what the trophy means to the residents of Wyoming.

Coach Bohl addressed the quarterback situation and stated a few times it will be a “game-time” decision, as to who will start, between redshirt freshman Tyler Vander Waal or true freshman Sean Chambers. He also spoke about the challenge to get two guys ready, the dynamic Chambers brings with him and how he shares some qualities with former UW QB Josh Allen.

Bohl discussed the balance of looking at each QB’s strengths to give Wyoming the best chance to win. He also reflected on the decision in the “2-minute” drill at the end of the Utah State game. Bohl knows they still must get ready for Colorado State and to “defend” the Bronze Boot.

Friday’s Border War football game in Fort Collins between rivals Wyoming and Colorado State will be the 110th in the series. It is scheduled to starts at 8 p.m., Mountain Time, Friday night. Radio coverage will be different for this game, due to a conflict with high school football playoff coverage. Coach Bohl even addressed that topic, of their game and high school football going head-to-head.

The Wyoming Cowboys game will be broadcast on KCGY-FM, ‘Y95 Country’ (FM 95.1) Friday. You can still listen online, through the Y95 mobile app and on Amazon Alexa-enabled devices.
