Wyoming Restorative Justice Council To Hold Casper Forum
The Wyoming Restorative Justice Council is launching their "Changing Lenses Campaign: An RJ Road Trip Across Wyoming" campaign in Casper with its first community engagement forum on April 16th.
According to their website, "The Wyoming Restorative Justice Council holds the belief that harm caused by crime and conflict is a fundamental violation of relationships and those most affected should be afforded the opportunity to have a voice." The statewide nonprofit organization was established in 2015 to aid in the implementation and development of Restorative Justice (RJ) practices and programs throughout the state, by educating interested communities.
At the community forum, WRJC board members will give an overview of the Restorative Justice philosophy and review what is happening around the state in the RJ movement. They will also cover information about how RJ can be put into action as well as its benefits to our communities and criminal justice system. Several guest speakers will be sharing stories of their own RJ experiences, and there will be time for a question and answer session.
Wyoming Restorative Justice Council Community Engagement Forum:
- April 16th, 2018, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- The Lyric, 230 West Yellowstone Highway, Casper
