The 2022 American Legion baseball continues in mid-April with more action on the baseball diamond.

After getting postponed a day, Gillette, plus both Cheyenne teams, Jackson, Laramie, Riverton, and Rock Springs are scheduled to make their season debut, weather permitting.

A couple of teams will start their 2022 schedule next week. A few more don’t begin until May.

MONDAY, APRIL 11:

Final Score: Gillette 14 Spearfish, SD 3 - Riders used a 7-run 1st inning and closed it out early. R. Schilling had 3 hits, while Fink & Kolata added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

THURSDAY, APRIL 14:

Douglas, SD at Gillette - postponed to May 9

SATURDAY, APRIL 16:

Revised schedule for Cheyenne, Laramie, & Rock Springs - Games moved to Laramie due to better weather & field conditions. Hawks will not play today.

Final Score: Cheyenne 11 Laramie 3 - Sixers led 3-1 and scored the next 6 runs for a 9-1 lead. McAnelly goes 3-4 (2B, HR, HBP) & 5 RBIs.

Final Score: Laramie 11 Rock Springs 0 - Chavez tosses a no-hitter on 69 pitches with 14 strikeouts. Ruckman had a 3-run 3B in the 1st, while Webb added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

SUNDAY, APRIL 17:

Revised Cheyenne schedule:

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 13 Rock Springs 2 - Horton was 3 for 3, including a HR with 5 RBIs. Hawks trailed 2-0 and scored the next 13 runs.

Final Score: Cheyenne 25 Rock Springs 0 - Jarosh and Seelye combined to pitch a shutout. Sixers put up 12 runs in the fourth inning.

Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 14 Laramie 5 - Hawks took the lead with a 5 run second. Pearson had 3 hits (3B) and 4 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne 11 Laramie 1 - Sixers break it open with a 6 run second. Costopoulos goes 3 for 4, with a HR and 3 RBIs.
