CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A former chief of the Colorado State Patrol is scheduled to speak at a Wyoming workforce conference in Gillette next week.

The eighth annual Governor's Summit on Workforce Services will take place June 14-15. The event will focus on workforce recruitment, development and retention issues, as well as workplace safety.

Col. Mark Trostel helped write several pieces of legislation concerning traffic safety. Colorado improved its traffic safety record significantly while Trostel was head of its state patrol.

Presently Trostel is national driving safety adviser for Encana Oil & Gas.

The conference will take place at Gillette College.
