Water Line Break Closes Shirley Rim Rest Area

If your traveling to Laramie tonight for Wyoming's game against Air Force be aware that the Shirley Rim rest area has been temporarily closed.

Officials from the Wyoming Department of Transportation say recent bitterly cold temperatures are being blamed for a water line rupture and subsequent closing of  the rest area on Wyoming Highway 487 at mile post 45.

Wydot officials discovered the rupture Wednesday morning and they say the rest area will be closed until crews are able to repair the underground water line. Scheduling of that work depends on warmer weather and so it's not known when the repairs and reopening will occur.
