University of Wyoming Engineering Building Opens
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Personnel from the University of Wyoming College of Engineering and Applied Science began to move into their new facility this past week.
The $105 million Engineering Education and Research Building was the most ambitious construction project in the university's history when construction began back in October 2016.
Engineering college dean Michael Pishko says the state-of-art facility puts UW in a strong position among engineering schools in the nation.
The new facility is located on the north end of the UW campus.
The four-story building includes reconfigurable research laboratories, active-learning classrooms, a drilling and completions simulation laboratory, a student innovation center and a student entrepreneurship center.
The facility is flexible, with space that can be reprogrammed without major renovation.
