People from Wyoming and beyond flocked to the First-Day-of-Issue Ceremony for the Total Eclipse of the Sun Commemorative Forever Stamp.

The events, held at the University of Wyoming Art Museum, began in the rotunda, as visitors watched as a beam of light illuminated a silver dollar embedded in the floor. The event only happens at noon during the summer solstice.

The debut ceremony was presided over by UW English Department Chair Peter Parolin. It included speakers such as Dr. Madhulika Guhathakurta, a NASA astrophysicist, James Cochran, chief customer and marketing officer of the U.S. Postal Service, Kevin Romero, acting district manager of the U.S. Postal Service and Fred Espenak, the photographer who took the image depicted on the stamp.
