BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A search continues for a Powell Tribune reporter who was last seen taking photographs near U.S. Highway 14 west of Cody on Jan. 31.

The search for 61-year-old Gib Mathers has been hampered by heavy snow, including about 2 feet on the ground when Mathers went missing and another 18 inches or so that has fallen since.

Searchers have used probes in deep snow near where Mathers' truck was found, three dog teams have joined the search and crews have used metal detectors and shovels in areas where dogs signaled a scent. Searchers have donned dry suits and used underwater cameras to look under ice shelves in the Shoshone River.

Search and rescue spokesman Lance Mathess says volunteers and dog teams have spent more than 800-man hours on the difficult search.
