The case against a Powell man accused of threatening a Casper woman is heading to district court.

Twenty-eight year old Joshua Armstrong waived his preliminary hearing on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent and felonious restraint.

Casper Police say in early February, they received a call from Jennifer Daniels who said Armstrong had a gun and was going to shoot her.

She said Armstrong accused her of a stealing a ring from him, and that he pointed a pistol at her wanting to know where it was while they were driving around Casper

Daniels made one attempt to flee, but Armstrong stopped her from doing so and said he was going to kill her if he did not get the ring back.

Daniels was able to talk Armstrong into driving to where she said she knew where the ring was, and once they got there, she was able to call police.

Armstrong denied trying to keep Daniels in the vehicle, and told investigators that he only had the gun to protect himself.

Armstrong is being held on $30,000 bond, awaiting trial.
