Wyoming’s Only Nudist Gathering
Wyoming has approximately 5.9 people per square mile as of 2020-2026 data. It is one of the most sparsely populated states in the US, with nearly 97,100 square miles of land area and a total population hovering around 580,000–590,000.
Since populations tend to be concentrated, this means that there are many places in Wyoming where you can walk around BUTT NAKED and there will be nobody there to see you.
What a perfect place for nudist resorts.
But there is one nudist club here in the great state of Wyoming. That we know of. There are no Wyoming nudist resorts. Just a group that meets now and then.
Wyotans is a group affiliated with the American Association of Nude Recreation and the Northwest Nudist Association. Although their official headquarters are in Gillette, Wyotans has members from Colorado, Nebraska, Montana, and the Dakotas.
They hold monthly meetings in members' homes; they also conduct several retreats each year. Past events have been held in Casper, the Big Horn Mountains, and various campgrounds across the state and region. They also represent the Wyoming delegation of social nudists every year at the annual Mountain Air Nudist camp in Colorado.
According to a website devoted to Nudist resorts, approximately 40 members are part of the Wyotans club. They include singles, couples, and families, and range in age up to 85 years old.
DO NOT MISTAKE Naked Acres WY as a nudist resort. They welcome folks to 20 private acres located in the heart of the Wyoming Black Hills! Despite the name, they are NOT clothing optional...Their property was named Naked Acres because when they purchased it many years ago, it was bare "naked" land.
There are no recognized commercial nudist resorts located within Wyoming. While the state offers secluded hot springs and remote public lands where people occasionally practice social nudity or skinny-dipping, established clothing-optional resorts do not operate here.
Wyoming generally prohibits appearing in a state of nudity in public places under state and local public indecency laws. However, following a federal appeals court ruling covering Wyoming, women have the legal right to be topless in public spaces, equal to men.
