People Searching for a Christmas Tree Found a Body in Missoula

At approximately 5:33 p.m. on December 12, 2024, Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives responded to a report of a deceased individual located in the area of Highway 200 and Gold Creek by individuals searching for a Christmas tree. Public Information Officer Jeannette Smith provided a statement.
"Sheriff’s Office Detectives located a deceased female, just off the shoulder of Gold Creek Road, and worked through the night investigating and gathering information from the scene to determine the identity of the female," said Smith. "The female has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Christine-Rosetta Arnold, of Missoula."
Smith said there was no indication the female had been assaulted.
"The cause and manner of death are pending additional information and a toxicology report from the Medical Examiner’s Office and could be in excess of 60 days," Smith said. "There is no public safety concern regarding this incident. Our deepest condolences go to the family, friends, and others affected by the loss of their loved ones."

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On December 13, 2024, at around 10:40 AM, the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office reported that a body was found the night before. Public Information Officer Jeannette Smith provided a statement.
“At approximately 5:33 p.m. on December 12, 2024, Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives responded to a report of a deceased individual located in the area of Highway 200 and Gold Creek by individuals searching for a Christmas tree,” Smith said. “Sheriff’s Office Detectives located a deceased female, estimated to be in her late 30’s to early 40’s.”
Smith said there was no identifying information with or near the deceased and identification could not be made.
“The body has been transported to the Missoula Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation,” Smith said. “Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Detectives worked through the night and continue to actively investigate this incident.”
