Driving at night in Wyoming can be tricky sometimes. When you get outside of town, it's dark, really dark. If you don't have good headlights, it can make your nighttime journey even tougher.

Cloudy, foggy, dim headlights can cause issues seeing at night, and when you're driving through big game country, you don't want that.

After your car starts to age, your headlights start to take a beating. Think of all the elements the headlight lens endures. Snow, ice, gravel, mud, rocks, tar, and a multitude of other objects can cause the plastic cover to chip, crack, turn yellow or become cloudy and hazy. These issues can become dangerous, because again, if you don't have good headlights, you can run into problems.

The headlights on my truck are getting to the point where I'm going to have to do something. All of my adventures around Wyoming have taken a toll on the plastic headlight covers.

If you've ever priced out new headlights, it's not a cheap fix if you're buying new ones. Luckily there are some options that are likely cheaper, easier and can get you back on the road quicker.

I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole and found a pretty easy way to brighten and clear up those dingy headlights.

The YouTuber's name is @ChrisFix and his channel is all about giving you cheap, easy and step-by-step instructions on how to fix your vehicles issues.

The video I found from Chris was how to restore your headlights, and there's a good chance you have most of the items he used around your house already. If not, you can get them for under $20...WAY cheaper than paying for a new headlight and for it to be installed.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
