Wyoming has been an inspiration to many, especially authors. Dating back to the early days of statehood, Wyoming has served as the setting for many books and book series, and has even inspired Hollywood to turn those books into TV shows and movies.

New York Times bestselling author C.J. Box is one of those authors who draws inspiration from his home state to continue spreading joy, adventure, and thrills to millions worldwide through his Joe Pickett novels. If you haven't been following along, for the last 25 years, since the summer of 2001, C.J.'s crime-fighting, mystery-solving Game Warden, Joe Pickett, has had a new adventure.

You can mark your calendar: after we ring in the New Year, you can expect a new Joe Pickett novel. As expected, C.J. is right on time in 2026 with his new novel, which is titled: "The Crossroads." From cjbox.net:

Game warden Joe Pickett fights for his life as his daughters try to uncover who shot him and left him for dead in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C. J. Box.

The book is available nationwide beginning February 24, 2026, wherever you normally purchase your books.

With a new book comes a new book tour, where fans can learn firsthand about the Pickett family's new adventures, and C.J. kicked off the latest tour on February 22 in Denver. Then for the rest of the month, he'll be hopping around Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, Missouri, and Iowa before coming back to where it all started, Wyoming.

You'll be able meet C.J. and learn about 'The Crossroads' in Wyoming, beginning on March 3, at the Carbon County Museum in Rawlins. Then March 4 in Casper at Gruener Brothers Brewing with Wind City Books. Then, on March 5, he's heading to the Laramie County Library in Cheyenne.
