LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowgirl tennis team concludes its three-match homestand this weekend with a pair of contests in Laramie.

The Cowgirls welcome UNC Greensboro for a noon match Friday, Feb. 2 before Colorado comes to town for a match Sunday, Feb. 4, also at noon.

Wyoming is coming off a 5-2 win when it was last in action, January 24. The Cowgirls defeated Buffalo in their home opener and clinched the match at 4-0 before everything was played out. UW got the doubles point thanks to a tiebreak win at the No. 2 spot from Noesjka Brink and Nikol Dobrilova, 7-6 (7-3).

The Cowgirls got four singles wins against the Bulls. Sophie Zehender won at the first position, 6-1 and 6-3. At the No. 3 spot, Noesjka Brink rallied from 5-2 down in the second set to win her matchup, 6-3 and 7-5. Jeselle Ante also earned a straight-set victory, winning at No. 4, 6-0 and 6-3 while Lucia Malinak won at the sixth spot, 4-6, 6-1 and 1-0 (10-7) as she took the super set.

Overall on the young season, the doubles tandem of Violetta Borodina and Zehender have compiled a 4-0 record at the No. 1 doubles position. Including the fall, the duo is 13-1 overall in 2023-24. In singles play, Ante, Borodina, Brink and Zehender all lead the way with three wins apiece. Brink is 12-6 including fall tournaments.
