JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Hotel reservations in Jackson Hole for the weekend before New Year's are up over the last two years.

According to the Associated Press, 69 percent of lodging in the valley is booked this Saturday. Last year at the same time, 56 percent of rooms were booked. In 2010, 49 percent were reserved.

The booking rate is also better than the weekend before Christmas, when hotels and vacation rentals were only 26 percent full.
Fresh powder could be drawing visitors. Parts of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort have gotten about two feet of new snow this week.
