Cheyenne Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Vehicular Homicide
A Cheyenne man who crashed a stolen pickup, killing a passenger, pleaded guilty Friday in Laramie County District Court to aggravated vehicular homicide.
On the night of July 14, Aaron Higine led a Wyoming trooper on a high-speed chase down E. Fox Farm Road, eventually rolling the stolen pickup he was driving.
Higine's front seat passenger, 19-year-old Angel Bell of Cheyenne, wasn't wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the pickup. She died at the scene.
Higine and a rear seat passenger were taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for treatment and released.
In exchange for Higine's plea, prosecutors have agreed to drop a slew of other charges at sentencing and are recommending a sentence of 16 to 20 years.
Higine's sentencing date will be set as soon as a presentence investigation is complete.
