Casper Winter Weather Advisory Through Afternoon, Records Set
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the Casper area until 5:00 this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service Riverton Office. Periods of snow are expected through the morning, tapering off this afternoon. Day Weather Meteorologist Don Day says we can expect an additional one to two inches of snow through the day.
The Weather Service says snowfall in the area as of early Tuesday morning ranges from three to six inches, with higher amounts on Casper Mountain.
A new record for precipitation was set for January 23rd, with 0.17 inches. This breaks the old record of 0.1 set in 1978. The National Weather Service also says a record was set for snowfall for that date, with 3.4 inches yesterday, breaking the old record of three inches set in 1949.
