Casper City Council approved a professional services contract with the non-profit Casper-Area Transportation Coalition on Tuesday.

Casper mayor Paul Meyer said the roughly $1.9 million dollar contract will help ensure that CATC will continue to operate for at least the next six months not only in Casper, but also in nearby Mills, Evansville, Bar Nunn, and other areas of Natrona County.

“With all of the different fingers being involved in the funding, and the grants that are involved, it’s just what we have to do every year – we have to renew our lease,” Meyer said.

The city will fund the contract through a federal transit administration grant, along with money from the general fund and one-cent funds.
