Casper Airport Sees 6.7 Percent Passenger Increase in July
July was yet another impressive month for the Casper-Natrona County International Airport, officials with the airport say.
“We saw a 6.7 percent increase in passengers getting on board aircraft in comparison to last July, and that’s coming off a really strong June number also,” airport manager Glenn Januska said.
Januska also said, looking at current trends, it's possible 2014 will be another six-digit banner year for the airport.
“We’re looking for almost a record-breaking year,” Januska said. “When we start looking at everything we’re seeing, we should be well over the 100,000 mark."
2013 was the first year since 1987 over 100,000 departed from the airport – the final number was 100,144, Januska said.
The airport tallied 108,270 passengers in 1987. Figures steadily fell before then due to the federal deregulation of the airline industry.
Passenger numbers were up roughly 10 percent in June, Januska said.
