Carroll Chiasson Pleads Guilty To Sex Crime

A North Dakota man has admitted to having sexual relations with an underaged girl in Natrona County.

Carroll Chiasson has pleaded guilty to one count of first degree sexual abuse of a minor.

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office says they were informed by police out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, that the acts took place in December 2010.

The victim claimed she had been molested by Chaisson, since she was six or seven years old and stopped about five years later.

Investigators were able to obtain a printout of Facebook messaging between Chaisson and the victim in 2014, but in some cases, a detective from Colorado Springs was posing as the victim.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will seek no more than a 16-to-20 year prison sentence.

Chiasson is being held on $75,000 bond and will be sentenced at a later date.
