A North Dakota man is accused of having sexual relations with an underaged girl in Natrona County.

Twenty-four year old Carroll Chiasson has pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental illness to two counts of first degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of second degree sexual abuse of a minor.

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office says they were informed by police out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, that the acts took place in December 2010.

The victim claimed she had been molested by Chaisson since she was six or seven years old and stopped about five years later.

Investigators were able to obtain a printout of Facebook messaging between Chaisson and the victim in 2014, but in some cases, a detective from Colorado Springs was posing as the victim.

Chiasson is being held on $75,000 bond awaiting trial, and could face 25-to-50 years in prison on each of the first degree sexual abuse of a minor charges, and up to 20 years in prison on the second degree sexual abuse of a minor charge if convicted.
