LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The number of brown and gold license plates issued by the University of Wyoming Alumni Association recently hit the 5,000 mark.

Proceeds from the sale of the special plates fund scholarships that support UW students.

The plates were designed to fund scholarships for incoming freshmen students, both from Wyoming and out of state. Since the program started in 2007, 64 students have received scholarships to achieve their higher education goals.
