Bitterly Cold Temperatures With Light To Scattered Snow Expected For Thanksgiving Day
Arctic air will be settled over the state of Wyoming today and Friday. This will keep temperatures very cold and well below average, with highs in the teens to lower 20's. Wind chill values will be even colder and below zero. At the same time, a stationary low pressure system will be over southwestern portions of the nation, which will force subtropical moisture and atmospheric instability into the state of Wyoming. Expect cloudy, overcast with light to scattered snow showers statewide today. Significant travel concerns (blowing and drifting snow, reduced to poor visibility, and icy to snowpacked roads) are expected throughout the entire state. We will continue to see partly to mostly cloudy on Friday and then light snow will redevelop later in the day and overnight. Cold temperatures and snow shower activity will continue into the upcoming weekend.
