The Wyoming Highway Patrol was involved with a vehicle pursuit on Interstate 25 this morning (Nov. 25th) at 11:19 a.m. The pursuit was initiated by the Mills Police Department. Once the chase went southbound on Interstate 25 from Mills, WHP took over as the primary agency involved.

WHP tried to utilize Stop Stick tire deflating devices on the vehicle at mile post 170. The driver was able to avoid the Stop Sticks.

At mile post 165, the vehicle crossed the median and began traveling south in the northbound lanes of Interstate 25. At mile post 162, a WHP Trooper fired at the vehicle to end the pursuit for the safety of the northbound Interstate 25 traffic.

The vehicle continued southbound for about one-half mile before three law enforcement vehicles rammed the truck ending the pursuit. Both occupants have been taken into custody and are receiving medical treatment.

One WHP Trooper and K-9 partner were hurt while ramming the pursuing vehicle at the end of the pursuit, but the injuries aren’t serious. Both the Trooper and K-9 have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

At the request of the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has taken over the investigation of the event.
