Wyoming National Parks to Get Electric Bikes
Three western national parks, including Yellowstone and Grand Teton are getting new technology.
The National Park Service announced Thursday that Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Glacier national parks are getting electronic bicycles. The National Elk Refuge is also getting the new bikes.
According to the park service, the bikes are low-speed bicycles with power assistance. A bicyclist may only use the motor to assist with pedaling. The rider must be pedaling the bike in order for the motor to be engaged.
As with regular bicycles, the electronic bikes will not be allowed in wilderness areas.
