Governor Matt Mead along with Governors of other western states in celebration of Great Outdoors Month 2016 and the Centennial of the National Park Service will be awarding some lucky families one heck of a free camping trip. Families from the "Western Governors" states are eligible to take part in the Great Outdoors Western Campout on June 10-15, 2016.

Selected families will camp in Grand Teton National Park and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor recreation. The families will be supported by technical experts and interact with mentors who are skilled in outdoor abilities. All food, accommodations, and activities will be provided, along with up to $1,000 for travel expenses.

Families should have a 4th grader - eligible for the "Every Kid in a Park" program, can be from any backgrounds and ability level, should be ready to participate in light to moderately strenuous outdoor activities and spend 5 days in the outdoors with limited amenities, want to share your experiences via social and traditional media, and be able to travel in an average "family" passenger vehicle.

You don't need to be an experienced "outdoorsmen", in fact it would be great if you're ready to learn to become one - basic amenities including restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, grocery, etc. are onsite.

Interested families should submit up to a one page description of your family, camping experience, and why you should be chosen, before April 25th, to:
