CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Preliminary figures show the University of Wyoming has enrolled 12,839 students this spring, an increase of more than 130 over last spring.

The spring enrollment figures at the state's only four-year university don't include many outreach students who are still enrolling.

UW Vice President for Student Affairs Sara Axelson says she expects that once the outreach students are counted, enrollment this spring will be well over 13,000.

Preliminary figures this spring show undergraduate enrollment increasing by 0.2 percent over the spring of 2011 and graduate and professional enrollment increasing by 3.7 percent.

Axelson noted continued increases in the number of minority students attending the university. There are now 1,204 minority students enrolled, an increase of 10 percent over last spring.
