Two Die In Fremont County Crash
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says two Ft. Washakie residents were killed early Saturday morning in a single vehicle rollover three miles north of Ethete.
Sgt. Steve Townsend says a Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 27 year old Tamara Nieto was southbound at a high rate of speed on Wyoming HIghway 132 shortly after 2am when the vehicle failed to handle a left turn in the roadway. Townsend says the vehicle went off the right side of the road. rolling several times before striking a power pole and going through a right of way fence before coming to rest on it's roof.
Both Nieto and a passenger, 21 year old Duke Perry, were ejected during the rollover and were later declared dead at the scene. Townsend says neither person was wearing a seatbelt.
Excessive speed and alcohol are being investigated as possible factors in the crash, according to Townsend.
