Last year, there were 14 confirmed cases of animal rabies across the state, including five in bats. This year there have been three confirmed cases in Sheridan.
The Behavioral Health Division of the Wyoming Department of Health has offered a $100,000 grant to "improve access to mental health services and support for first responders and law enforcement officers."
Stefan Johansson, WDH director, said, “There was a notable reduction in suicides last year. This is certainly something we welcome. There could be several factors involved such as increased attention toward mental health issues both in our state and across the country.”
The Wyoming Department of Health has provided some information on the number of opioid deaths the state has experienced over the last few years and how to avoid overdoses.
