Usually the election of a new USCCB president is a formality, with the bishops elevating the conference’s vice president to the post.

U.S. Catholic bishops have overwhelmingly approved the drafting of a “teaching document” that many of them hope will rebuke Catholic politicians, including President Joe Biden, for receiving Communion despite their support for abortion rights.

Some sources declined to go on the record, saying they feared for retaliation against themselves and/or their children.

The aim is to clarify the church’s stance on an issue that has repeatedly vexed the bishops.

Assuming it is determined safe and prudent, all classes will return to in-person instruction on Monday, Nov. 30.

Bishop Steven Biegler of the Catholic Diocese of Cheyenne recently released a statement regarding the reopening of churches in the state.

The proposed 150,000-square-foot detention center surrounded by 16-foot-high-razor-wire-topped fences would be able to house up to 600 immigrants.

Parish offices will remain open for the time being.

The diocese reported the allegation to the Cheyenne Police Department and is cooperating with its investigation.

Cheyenne Bishop Emeritus Joseph Hart's attorney Tom Jubin said Bishop Steven Biegler should know the diocese is not capable with running a criminal investigation.
