Britania Fire

A temporary flight restriction remains in effect around the entire fire area.

The aerial attack has largely consisted of bucket drops from helicopters, coordinated from a fixed-wing aircraft.

The fire was last reported at 20,180 acres in size with 23 percent containment as of Wednesday morning.

As of Tuesday, some 260 firefighters were working the blaze

The area of the fire is partly timbered, partly grassland, and the terrain is uneven which makes suppression difficult.

Between 150 and 200 firefighters are assigned to the blaze, including one crew from Florida.

As of Monday afternoon, the Britania Fire had burned over 13,300 acres with no containment.

Additional crews and engines will be arriving by Tuesday from other states, including California and Florida.

Gatorade, bottled water and granola bars are also requested.

According to the Torrington Volunteer Fire Department, the fire is burning on the Medicine Bow National Forest near Palmer Canyon in Albany County.
