The Laramie County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who attempted to rob the Taco John's on the S. Greeley Highway last (Wednesday) night.

Captain Linda Gesell says deputies were called to the restaurant around 9:40 p.m., after a man displaying an aluminum bat demanded money from the cash drawer.

"The employee behind the counter said he needed to go in the back and push a button prior to getting the cash out of the till and it was at that time that another employee was alerted that they were being robbed," said Gesell.

"I'm not sure if he felt the employee was taking too much time or if he felt the police had been called, but he left on foot and left Taco John's without any money or anyone getting hurt," Gesell added.

The man, who was wearing a blue hoodie and dark pants, was described as a 5-foot-6, Hispanic male with a scraggly beard. Gesell says he may also have a small scar on his lower left lip.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (307) 633-4775 or Crime Stoppers Silent Witness at (307) 638-TIPS.
