Lisa Shepperson, who has represented House District 58 since 2007, said being a mom and running a ranch have left little time for her legislative duties.

As most of you know, we had an addition to our family this March, our baby girl Lavoye Evalyn

Garnhart. This has been such a wonderful, life changing experience for my husband and me

and we are committed to making our family our first priority. So, it is with this in mind that I

have made my decision to resign. As time and circumstances allow in the future, I may once

again be able to serve in elective office. Until then, I will continue to serve in other ways,

starting with my family.

The resignation is official on September 12th and Natrona County Republicans will have 15 days from that date to chose 3 candidates to succeed her. Natrona County Commissioners will pick one of the three to finish out her term which ends January 2013.

GOP Chairman for Natrona County, Miles Dahlby said this afternoon that it was too soon to say when the county republicans will meet to pick the three finalists. House District 58 covers North Casper, Bar Nunn and much of Northeastern Natrona County. If you live in those areas and are interseted in running for the seat, you can find the application HERE . Applications are due by Friday, September 23rd,2011 at 5:00 PM.
