CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming State Museum has created its own geocache.

A geocache is a hidden location pinpointed with Global Positioning System technology. The location's existence and coordinates are shared online for members of the geocache community to try and find.

Geocaching has become enormously popular in recent years, especially with the increase in smartphone use. Smartphones have built-in Global Positioning Systems which allow the owner to search for a geocache almost anywhere at any time.

Museum curator Jim Allison thought bringing the popular hobby into the museum galleries was a great fit because geocaching encourages exploration and discovery.

The museum's geocache is on Geocaching website, which you can access by CLICKING HERE .
