The 2012 Riverfest is scheduled for Saturday, August 25th,  Casper’s own river festival, will offer fantastic food, live music, micro-brew tasting, family fun including the 2nd annual “Dunk Tank” AND Casper Rotary’s Great Duck Derby at Crossroads Park along the scenic Platte River Parkway trail and the North Platte River.  The fun begins at 12 noon and continues until 5 p.m.

This year’s microbrew tasting has a little something for everyone with samplings of Sam Adams, New Belgium, Avery Brewing, Boulevard Street, Alaskan Brewing Blue Moon Brewing, Big Sky Brewing, Deschutes Brewery, Sierra Nevada, O'Dell Brewing, Snake River Brewing, Boulder Beer, and Mike's Hard Lemonade to name a few.  Come out and taste some of these great regional micro-brews and vote for your favorite brew in our People’s Choice award.  A 12 oz. microbrew is $4.00 and a 4 oz taster is $1.00.

Fantastic food offerings from Arrowhead Catering, La Cocina, Essence of Life, Cupcake A Go Go and Cold Stone Creamery.

You will also have the chance to come and put your favorite banker "under water" and help the Parkway...the dunk tank is holding a "Banker's Challenge" so you can show your support for your bank or just enjoy the wet and wacky fun, throwing balls to put them "in the tank”. Participating will be Dick Jay - Jonah Bank, Jens Hansen - Hilltop Bank, Brett Ladenberger - First Interstate Bank, Tim Kugler - Wells Fargo Bank, and Mark Zabec - Jonah Bank East. Our "Wild Card" will be John Patterson, City Manager, challenging the bankers to see who can raise the most and earn the bragging rights for 2012.

This year’s musical lineup includes John Kirlin and the High Plains Drifters and Steve Frame and his Western Rebels.

In addition to the Riverfest, the Casper Rotary’s Great Duck Derby is an essential part of the fun.  Purchase a Duck Ticket for $20 and you have a chance to win great prizes including a chance to win $3,000 in cash, $4,000 trip to Cancun, $2,000 travel voucher, New York Getaway ($2,000 value) and many more.  You can buy a duck ticket from the Parkway by e-mailing platteriver@wyoming.com, calling 577-1206 or visiting the Casper Area Chamber of Commerce.  Duck Drop is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
