THURSDAY UPDATE: At approximately 6:15 PM on Wednesday, the Casper Fire-EMS was dispatched for a structure fire in the 1800 block of South Poplar Street. When firefighters arrived, they found a fire involving a detached garage. The fire was extinguished shortly after arrival, according to a press release from the Casper Fire-EMS.

Occupants were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were
reported as a result of the fire.

Damage from the fire was limited to the detached garage and a
vehicle in the garage. The cause is under investigation.

Five units from Casper Fire-EMS initially responded as well as a
fire investigator from the Natron County Interagency Fire Investigation
Task Force. Crews were assisted by Banner Wyoming Medical Center,
Casper Police, Casper Public Safety Tele-Communicators, Black Hills
Energy, and Rocky Mountain Power.

Casper Fire-EMS reminds citizens that as summer
progresses, we encounter increased fire danger. Keeping grass trimmed
around fences and structures reduces the risk of spread if a fire were to
occur.
