Glenrock had their home opener on Friday night hosting Newcastle. Both teams suffered opening week loses as the Glenrock Herders were beaten by Torrington and the Newcastle Dogies lost to Wheatland.

For Glenrock in this game, Dustin Blaylock had a great game running the football with 175 yards rushing on 23 carries and a touchdown. The guy has a lot of ability and will be called upon for maximum production. Jonah Young also scored twice for the Herders and Kade Guenther added a TD so the offense as a whole showed significant improvement from the first game to the 2nd game. Blaylock, by the way, had 13 defensive points, while Cade Grifitts had 10

On the Newcastle side of the ledger, Tristan Wornkey certainly came to play. He scored one of the 2 Dogie touchdowns and had 17 defensive points. Bradyn Frye notched a TD for Newcastle and Christian Santos had 17 defensive points. Newcastle was also picked off twice in the game and that really hurt as Glenrock wins this one 28-13. Glenrock at 1-1 will host Wheatland this week. Newcastle at 0-2 will have their home opener this week, hosting Rocky Mountain
