How much do you know about the history of Natrona County? You now have the opportunity
to learn a lot more. February 1 marked the release of Natrona County: The Place We Call Home, which is being published by the NCPL Foundation. This book was created to help third grade students learn about the history of our community and for teachers to meet one of the social studies
curriculum requirements.

We think that people of all ages will enjoy reading this introduction to Natrona
County history. A number of local historians, librarians, and teachers have contributed to this extraordinary project.

The Natrona County Library Foundation was  awarded a grant from the Casper Area Community Foundation. These funds were used to assist in the production of the book. The NCPL Foundation has funded this book project and is building support for the book’s distribution and use throughout Natrona County. Yesterday 1000 copies were delivered to the Natrona County School District and will be in classrooms soon.

Library Director Bill Nelson and Woods Learning 3rd grade teacher Guy Sallade joined us this morning to talk about the project.

The book will be sold at the library, thru the local bookstores and numerous museums in town. Proceeds will benefit library programs and services funded by the NCPL Foundation.
