One person was arrested Monday morning after he ran from northern Wyoming authorities and allegedly stole a bulldozer.

Jeremy Daniel Singer was booked on a warrant from Oklahoma and the U.S. Marshals Service for failure to appear on drug trafficking charges, with numerous local charges pending following Monday's incident. Singer's bond was set at $150,000, according to a statement from Johnson County Sheriff Rod Odenbach.

An officer tried to stop Singer's vehicle shortly after midnight in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90, but Singer allegedly fled. After heading south on Cook Road, Singer continued off-road through private property before abandoning his vehicle and running off.

Authorities conducted a large-scale search and warned area residents via the Code Red system. People were asked to lock vehicles and buildings, and to be on the lookout for Singer.

WYDOT used overhead signs on I-90 to ask travelers to not pick up hitchhikers in the area.

A methane field worker reported at roughly 11 a.m. that Singer had stolen a John Deere dozer, Odenbach says. Local ranchers and workers in the area were able to help deputies find Singer.

Odenbach says property damage has been reported in connection with the search.

Singer was taken into custody at roughly 11:30 a.m. after a local rancher found him some three miles northeast of I-90 in the area of Exit 82.

"Thanks to these local ranchers this individual was apprehended without incident," Odenbach said.

The search included the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Buffalo Police Department, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and a civilian pilot.
