The Laramie community is coming together to support one of its own this weekend.

Two Laramie establishments are hosting benefits for Miss Wyoming 2018 Callie Bishop to help cover mounting medical bills after she required a number of emergency surgeries.

Blossom Yoga Studio in Laramie will be hosting a benefit yoga class on Saturday, Jan. 13 to raise money for Bishop.

Katherine Indermaur, Bishop’s friend, said she and Nichol Bondurant, will be co-teaching the benefit class on Saturday for Bishop, who is an instructor at the studio. Indermaur said that she and Bondurant separately approached the studio’s owner, Miguel Chen, about hosting the benefit in December.

“Great minds think alike!” Indermaur said in an email. “Miguel was very enthusiastic about the idea and put us in touch with one another. Both Nichol and I are friends of Callie, and we actually both did out 200-hour yoga teacher training at Blossom Yoga Studio back in 2013-2014, so we know each other and we’re both trained yoga instructors.”

Indermaur said the class will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and will be appropriate for all levels, from beginners to practiced yogis. She said there will be no charge for the class, but they will be accepting cash donations that will go directly to Bishop.

Indermaur said those who want to participate should bring themselves and a yoga mat if they have one. She said the studio has some mats available, but those who can bring their own should so there are more mats to go around. Those who attend the class will also be able to sign cards which will be provided to Bishop.

After the class, people are encouraged to head over to Coal Creek Tap in downtown Laramie, where they will be hosting an extended happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m on Saturday to benefit Bishop, who also works at Coal Creek. Coal Creek Tap will be donating $1 from every beer sale during that period to Bishop.

Indermaur said that those unable to attend the event on Saturday but who still want to help, can give to Bishop on her GoFundMe page.

"I want to thank Miguel and Lily at Blossom Yoga Studio and everyone at Coal Creek Tap for their support,” Indermaur said. “We love you, Callie!”
