USMC Junior & 16U Nationals Wrestling Tourney Begins in Fargo

The huge United State Marine Corps Junior and 16U National Wrestling Tournament is underway in Fargo, North Dakota. Over 7000 wrestlers from coast to coast will be competing and once again, a big Wyoming contingent will be there.

Already on the girl's side in the junior division, Maggie Smith of Rock Springs placed 7th in the 200 lb. bracket going 4-2. She entered the tournament ranked 6th in the nation at 200. Brinley Green of Rawlins went 3-2, Josie Houk of Lingle-Fort Laramie went 2-2 and she was ranked 25th in the country. Meadow King of Cheyenne Central went 1-2, Telia Peters of Buffalo was 1-2, Paityn Covolo of Sheridan went 0-2 and Skylee Gangwish of Kelly Walsh went 0-2.

In the 16U freestyle, Tai McBride of Jackson and Veil Foreman of Star Valley went 3-2, Rebecca Oetken from Sheridan went 2-2, Lilly Quintanilla of Thermopolis went 1-2 and Lindsey Peters of Buffalo went 0-2.
