The State Tennis Tournament concluded on Wednesday in Gillette under sunny skies which gave the players the best chance to play their best. On the girls' side, Kelly Walsh's Taylor Nokes won the #1 singles championship over Ashli Smedley of Cheyenne Central 4-6, 6-2, and 6-4. In her 4 year, varsity career, Nokes lost just 3 matches which is an incredible accomplishment. Hailey Mathis-Breitkopf of Central captured the #2 singles title with a straight-set win over Harper Klinger of Kelly Walsh 6-2 and 6-2.

In the girls' #1 doubles, Genesis Tyler and Cailyn Smedley of Cheyenne Central won the state championship over Laramie's Peyton Thorburn and Morgan Moore 6-4 and 6-2. In #2 doubles, Laramie's Makeda Procter and Gracie Smith prevailed for the state championship over Tierra Tachick and Emma Kendrick of Thunder Basin 0-6, 6-4, and 6-4.

In #3 doubles, Sheridan's Georgia Gould and Livi Katschke beat Lucia Shoemaker and Crimson Flowers of Central 2-6, 6-1, and 6-2. Cheyenne Central won the girls' team championship with 59 points with Kelly Walsh 2nd with 45.

In the #1 boys singles state championship, Cheyenne South's Andrew Lock repeated as the state titlist with a 6-4 and 6-1 win over Paulo Mellizo.  In the boys' #2 singles, Nathaniel Thornell of Central downed Declan O'Conner of Laramie 4-6, 6-4, and 7-6. In boys' #1 doubles, Cheyenne Central's Owen Black and Thomas Smedley defeated Aaron and Ben Bujans of Sheridan  6-2 and 6-1. In #2 doubles, Laramie's Spencer Killpak and Carson Krueger defeated Landis Zebroski and Shaw Walker of Sheridan  3-6, 7-5 and, 6-0. In the #3 doubles bracket, Roscoe Cone LeBeaumont of Cheyenne Central defeated Kaden Sutherland and Kale Peterson 6-1 and 6-3 to take the podium
