Hilltop National Bank broke ground on Friday for a branch office on Casper's east side.

"We're constructing a brand-new 2,500-square-foot branch that will be ready for operation some time in the spring," said Greg Dixson, president and CEO of the bank.

The bank branch will be the anchor tenant of four buildings at the site called The Compass, 4140 Centennial Hills Boulevard, which is owned and developed by True Land & Realty, Dixson said.

"We picked this location simply because of the [housing] and the activity and the access, and it's just another way for Hilltop to take good care of our customers," he said.

Dixson declined to say how much the building will cost.

The bank, chartered in 1964, has slightly more than $750 million in assets. Its trust department manages assets of $1.7 billion.
