SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) — Employees of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department tranquilized a black bear after it turned up near a car dealership on the south side of Sheridan.

Police blocked off the area Thursday morning. The Associated Press reports Game and Fish soon arrived and tranquilized the 170-pound male black bear.

Game and Fish spokesman Warren Mischke says the bear was doing well and would be released into the nearby Bighorn Mountains.

The bear was about 2 years old.
