The hit FOX Television show “American Idol” will be holding auditions at Fort Caspar next week. Last month, officials with the show unveiled plans for a bus tour of 10 small towns, holding auditions for the 12th season of “Idol.” Casper was included in that list of towns.

Casper Chamber of Commerce Executive Robin Mundell confirmed to K2 Radio that the event will be held at the front of the Fort Caspar Museum on Wednesday, August 8th. She lauded city officials for their help in planning, security, and offering the facility for the event.

Mundell says on the day of the auditions, nobody will be allowed into the Fort Caspar area until 9:00 a.m. She predicts “Idol” hopefuls will get about 40 seconds to prove their talent before the show’s producers.

She also suggests keeping an eye on the weather forecast and dressing appropriately, as those auditioning will be lined up most of the day. Parking will be available at the Natrona County Fairgrounds.

Participants must have photo ID, and be between the ages of 15 and 28. Those under 18 must have a legal guardian with them at the time of the audition. Mundell says once your identification has been checked, you’ll be given a number for the audition line.
