Edward Matheri Sentenced For Reckless Endangering
A Casper man will be spending time in jail, after he admitted that he got into a fight and used a butter knife as a weapon.
Edward Matheri was sentenced to nine months in jail (with credit for time served) after he pleaded guilty to one amended misdemeanor charge of reckless endangering (Originally, one count of aggravated assault, and one charge of possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent).
Investigators with the Casper Police Department say in middle November 2015, Matheri was visiting an apartment with several other people on the 300 block on North Lincoln Street.
According to witnesses, some in the group, including Matheri were playing cards and drinking, when an argument started, which turned into a fight with Matheri swinging first, and during the altercation, Matheri grabbed a butter knife and cut one person with it.
It is unknown what the argument was over.
When questioned by police, Matheri said the people in the apartment were against him and were assaulting him.
